Receipt Inbox is an iOS utility app that lets you capture a receipt photo and email it to a destination of your choice. This page explains what information the app handles and how it is handled.
Receipt Inbox is operated by Brandon Pelton. Questions about this policy can be sent to brandon.pelton77@gmail.com.
Each time you tap Capture, the app prepares an email containing the receipt photo and basic metadata (capture timestamp and your name). The email is then handed off to the iOS system Mail app for you to review and send. That is the only purpose for which this data is used.
Receipt emails are sent through Apple's standard iOS Mail interface
(MFMailComposeViewController) using whatever email account
you have configured in iOS Settings → Mail. Receipt Inbox does not
contain any SMTP credentials, mail relay servers, or backend services.
Your email is sent from your own configured account, the same way as
any other email you send from your iPhone.
Receipt Inbox does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Email transit naturally involves Apple (Sign in with Apple), Google (Sign in with Google), and your email provider; each of those services has its own privacy policy that governs the data they handle.
You can delete your in-app account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes your stored name and email from the device's Keychain and signs you out. Because Receipt Inbox stores no data on a server, there is nothing to delete elsewhere.
If you signed in with Apple and want to fully revoke this app's access to your Apple ID, open the iPhone Settings app and go to: Your Name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Receipt Inbox → Stop using.
Receipt Inbox is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. The app does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.
